Furniture repairs
are undertaken at our workshop. Sometimes this entails removing, re-glueing
then refitting a piece back into a table, chair or similar. However it
may also include actually turning a new leg or strut. Occasionally a piece
of furniture needs more attention and has to actually be cleaned off and
re-oiled with Danish Oil or similar. It can instead be French Polished
but this is a very costly job as it is very labour intensive. We frequently repair domestic
furniture but one of our specialities is to repair those chairs, stools
and tables used in Pubs, Hotels and Restaurants which get a lot of wear
and tear. In many cases 'a stitch in time saves nine'. We can also turn unusual spindles,
newel posts and tops, and finials both exterior ones for gable ends and
interior ones for curtain rails or tops of clocks or furniture.
